General FAQs

What are the requirements to rent a vehicle with C.C. Rental?

To rent a vehicle from C.C. Rental, individuals must meet certain eligibility requirements. They include:

  • Having a valid driver’s license (no commercial driver’s license needed)
  • Having a major credit or debit card
  • Meeting a minimum age requirement (which may vary by vehicle type and state)

Photocopies or photos of driver’s licenses are not allowed. We must have a physical copy of a valid license (domestic or foreign) to rent you a vehicle. While we accept all credit and debit cards, we do not accept prepaid cards, gift cards, or reloadable cards.

What vehicles are offered at C.C. Rental?

Vehicle availability varies based on location. However, our fleet includes:

  • 20-foot box trucks: These Isuzu NPR HD 20-foot box trucks provide 5,000 pounds of freight capacity and come with a lift gate.
  • 15-foot box trucks with a ramp or lift: These Ford E350 box trucks are 15 feet long and have a 3,000-pound weight capacity. They come with either a ramp or a lift gate for easier loading.
  • Transit cargo vans: These RAM ProMaster 2500 vans have a tall ceiling and higher weight capacity to make transporting bulky or heavy equipment a breeze.
  • Cargo vans: These GMC Savana cargo vans offer ample space for transporting cargo like packages, equipment, and more.
  • 15-passenger vans: These GMC Savana vans feature four rows to seat up to 15 people. Rows can be removed to add extra luggage space.
  • 12-passenger hi-top vans: These Ford Transit 250 vans seat up to 12 people in three rows. They offer spacious headroom and 2.5 feet of storage space behind the last row.
  • Minivans: These Chrysler Voyager minivans can seat up to seven people, or you can fold the back row down for additional luggage space.
  • Large SUVs: These Chevrolet Suburban large SUVs offer seating for eight people, along with a spacious cargo compartment, and several comfort and convenience features.
  • Cars: These Kia Forte mid-size sedans have a compact size that makes parking in city areas easier. They seat four to five people and have many convenience features.

How can I reserve a vehicle rental?

To reserve a vehicle, you’ll need to call us at 1-800-841-0291, 1-212-239-3333 in New York City. This allows us to discuss your needs, group size, travel dates, rates, eligibility, and other important details before confirming your reservation. Booking cannot be done online.

What is the gas policy at C.C. Rental?

All rental vehicles must be returned with the same amount of gas they had at pick-up. Be sure to check the gas level at pick-up to ensure your tank is filled properly before drop-off. Additional fees will be applied for vehicles returned with insufficient gas.

Do all C.C. Rental vehicles run on regular gasoline?

All vehicles take regular gas, except our refrigerated trucks, which take diesel.

Do I need a commercial driver’s license (CDL) to drive box trucks from C.C. Rental?

No, you do not need a commercial driver’s license to drive our box trucks. All our vehicles can be rented and driven with a regular driver’s license.

Is insurance required for C.C. Rental vehicles?

Some rentals may require proof of auto insurance. Please call to inquire.

Will my credit card be charged before I get my rental?

Yes. We will authorize your credit card for a minimum of $1,000 before we rent a vehicle to you. This money may be unavailable to you for up to 30 days when using a debit card. Please consult with your bank on their policy.

Can I pay for a rental but have someone else pick it up?

Yes, as long as you set up your account beforehand. They must have a valid driver’s license and know the name the account is under.

What are the rates for rentals?

Rates vary depending on the location, type of vehicle, and rental period. We offer daily, weekly, and monthly rental rates. Additional fees may be charged for late returns, additional mileage, and insufficient gas levels.

What is the late return policy?

Rental vehicles must be returned before the hour and minute of pick-up. If you pick up your vehicle at 5:10 p.m., you must return the vehicle before 5:10 p.m. at the end of your rental period. We have a one-hour grace period before late fees apply. After one hour, you will be charged a late fee.

How does the E-ZPass work?

Every rental vehicle comes with an E-ZPass transponder on the inside of the windshield. It automatically tracks the toll areas you drive through and charges the correct total to your credit card, plus a $1.50 service charge. Tolls are charged separately from your vehicle rental charge, usually within 48 hours of passing through the toll area. After your rental period ends, you will see a charge for your rental followed by several small charges for tolls.

Can I use my own E-ZPass?

No. Every transponder is registered to a specific vehicle and license plate. All tolls on our rental vehicles must go through our E-ZPass system. You may not remove or tamper with the E-ZPass transponder or use your own E-ZPass transponder.

Will I receive an email confirmation after booking?

Yes, we automatically send emails to the email on file to confirm bookings or changes. If you would like the information sent to a different email address, simply give us a call.

In Manhattan (Midtown and Chelsea), you can drop your vehicle off at either location. Long Island City rentals must be dropped off at the same location, or a $25 fee will be charged.

What is the mileage policy in New York?

A vehicle rental from C.C. Rental includes a specific mileage. The cost includes:

  • 100 miles/day
  • 700 miles/week
  • 1,500 miles/month for long-term rentals

If you exceed that mileage, it will be charged per mile. There is a 15-cent charge for each additional mile for cars, and a 26-cent charge for each additional mile for all other vehicles.

We do not have a physical location that customers can visit in Florida. Instead, we deliver and pick up rental vehicles to select airports around the state, including Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.

What vehicles are available in Florida?

In Florida, our only rental option is 15-passenger vans. These are ideal for family vacations, friend trips, church outings, sports teams, and other groups that need spacious transportation.

What is the mileage policy in Florida?

In Florida, our rental vans are available at weekly rates with unlimited mileage.

How does vehicle pick-up work in Florida?

For Florida vehicle rentals, we will deliver your vehicle directly to your selected airport (Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, or West Palm Beach). When booking, we will record your flight information, arrival time, and other important information to ensure the vehicle is at the airport when you need it. A C.C. Rental team member will park your vehicle in a short-term rental parking space and let you know exactly where it’s located. This means you can get in and start driving without having to wait in long lines or schedule a pick-up.

How does vehicle drop-off work in Florida?

Vehicle drop-off works similarly to pick-up. When you arrive at the airport to depart, simply leave the vehicle in a short-term parking spot. Then, you’ll send us information about the location of the parking spot so a team member can come pick it up.

What do I do if my travel times change?

If your travel times change, please inform C.C. Rental with a phone call so that we can adjust accordingly for your pick-up or drop-off.
