Legal Requirements for Driving Rental Vehicles
The state of Georgia has several legal requirements for driving rental vehicles. C.C. Rental also has its own requirements to ensure that customers are eligible to pay. Before contacting us for your reservation, be sure you have the following:
- Driver’s license: You must have a valid domestic or foreign driver’s license. You must present a physical license, not a photo or a copy.
- Payment method: You must have a credit or debit card from a major provider. We do not take payment in prepaid, reloadable, or gift cards.
- Minimum age: You must meet the minimum age requirement. Contact us to find out the age requirement for your vehicle of choice.
If any other drivers will be operating the rental vehicles, they must also meet the license and age requirements. We expect you to provide eligibility information for all drivers when making your reservation. If the rental vehicle will be picked up by anyone other than the name under which the reservation is made, make sure the driver and our team are appropriately informed.
E-ZPass and Toll Policy
All vehicles from C.C. Rental come with an E-ZPass transponder, which automatically records road tolls and charges them to your credit card with a $1.50 service fee per toll. Because of how the E-ZPass system works, the tolls are charged separately from your vehicle rental. You should see one large rental charge plus several smaller toll charges. Toll charges typically post within 48 hours of passing through the toll zone.
Do not attempt to remove the E-ZPass transponder. You will be charged extra if you return the vehicle with a missing or damaged transponder. Do not use your own E-ZPass transponder. Each transponder is registered to a specific vehicle and cannot be swapped between vehicles. All tolls must be processed through our E-ZPass system.
Maximum Mileage Policy
C.C. Rental has a maximum mileage for all vehicle rentals in Georgia. For rental periods that are less than one month long, the maximum is equal to 150 miles per day. For periods of one month or longer, the maximum is 2,500 miles per month. Miles over the maximum are charged at 26 cents per mile for trucks and vans.
Vehicle Return Policy
All our rental periods are based on a 24-hour day, with the end of the rental period calculated from the hour and minute of its start. If your rental begins at 2:10 p.m., for example, then it also ends at 2:10 p.m. We allow a one-hour grace period during which you can return late vehicles without incurring an extra fee. If you return the vehicle after the grace period has concluded, extra fees will apply.
Vehicles must be returned with the same volume of gas they had at pick-up. When picking up your rental vehicle, make sure to check and record the gas levels before driving. Additional fees apply for vehicles that are returned without refueling.
